C21 Student Voices Project
The Student Voices Project
In the fall of 2019, Boston College’s Church in the 21st Century Center set out to develop a method for ‘taking the pulse’ of Boston College students’ faith journeys. Through short online surveys and focus groups, the Student Voices Project has since engaged with more than 4,000 high school and college students from across the United States about their experiences in the Catholic Church.
After Pope Francis announced the Synod on Synodality in 2021, the Church in the 21st Century Center realized that the Student Voices Project’s diagnostic tool could facilitate young people’s participation in the Synod. After a year of data collection, the Center submitted a report of its findings to the Vatican.
Interested in participating in the Student Voices Project?
The Church in the 21st Century Center continues to partner with parishes, high schools, and colleges interested in learning more about their students’ experience of faith formation. The Center offers the Student Voices Project’s diagnostic tool and provides school- and parish-specific data analysis, both free of charge.
